Bill and Jane Shrapnel’s relentless quest to make New South Wales’ finest cool climate wines is coming to fruition in the highlands of Orange. The hand-picked fruit from their lovingly tended vineyard at 980 metres above sea level is crafted into a superb range of distinctive wines. Pinot noir has been an absolute standout though riesling, chardonnay, gewurztraminer and pinot gris all shine. The sparkling wines are fine, delicate and complex. In its first five vintages Colmar Estate has won no less than 27 trophies at Australian wines shows and established itself as the Orange Region’s most awarded vineyard.
